Sound Familiar?
TAs juggle grading, section prep, and student questions with limited time to watch every assigned video.
Watching all assigned lecture videos before leading discussion sections
Students asking about specific moments in videos you have not watched yet
Preparing supplementary materials from video content under time pressure
No searchable version of the professor's recorded lectures

2outube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID
Just change 'y' to '2'

Can I search across multiple lecture transcripts?
You access one video at a time, but you can quickly open multiple 2outube tabs to search across several lectures.

Yes, timestamps appear with the transcript so you can direct students to specific moments.
Can I share transcripts with students?
Yes. Share the 2outube URL and anyone can view it without creating an account.
How accurate are the transcripts?
Manually uploaded captions are very accurate. Auto-generated captions are generally good but check technical terms.

Yes, 2outube works in any mobile browser.
Does it work with Zoom recordings on YouTube?
Yes, if the Zoom recording is on YouTube with captions, 2outube will extract the transcript.
Can the professor see that I used this?
No. 2outube simply reads the publicly available captions. There is no tracking or notification.
What if the video doesn't have captions?
Most YouTube videos have auto-generated captions. If a video doesn't have any captions at all, 2outube won't be able to extract a transcript. This is rare for English-language content.
Can I use the transcript for commercial purposes?
The transcript text comes directly from YouTube's caption data. How you use it depends on the original video's license and your jurisdiction's fair use rules.
Does 2outube store my data or viewing history?
No. 2outube doesn't require an account and doesn't track which videos you transcribe. There's nothing to store because there's no login.
