1:14>> And until then I think we're just going to wander the town. There's a few things that we wanted to see. There's like >> sculpted out. >> There's an electronic store. 1:30>> Candy here. >> All right. One of us cares about candy. One of us >> candy. >> One of us doesn't. >> Candy. >> All right, let's go. Candy. >> All right. This store caught our eye. Toys and Helden. I don't know what a Helden is. I know what a >> retro games though. Looks like they have some >> Oh, we got Big Jim. We got some We got a Batman.
1:48>> Look at the Mario plays the xylophone. Look. Very vintage. >> That's Mickey. >> I'm sorry. I Let's scope this out. I don't know. I don't know what this is. Oh, we got big Spider-Man right at the top. >> All the mins. We got them all. Oh, here we go. Right away, we've got this. Look at this.
2:05>> Oh, wow. Wall of >> all of the Nintendo. >> Look at this. Wow. I haven't seen that before. And that's something we haven't been able to find here. It's like a proper retro game store. >> That's actually kind of cool. >> For the low price of €680, you can take that home. Do you have room in your suitcase?
2:19>> I don't have money >> for that. >> Oh, this is Nintendo Netherlands. Wow. >> Oh, that's fascinating. >> That's actually really interesting. Yeah. Oh, Europa version. >> We are in Europe. Yeah, >> that would make sense. Okay. >> You don't see the magician Mario often. That's like all that's for all stars. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Wow. All right. Well, this is off to a good start. Oh, I see some games over here, too. Oh, look at this.
2:45>> Oh, they have tons of retro games here. Glover. >> Ah, Glover. >> Uh, now we see it everywhere. >> €24. Wow. Game Boy. >> Okay, so some of these are Japanese games, some of these are European games, some of these are just I don't know. >> Okay, how interesting. >> Neat. Over here, >> Donkey Kong 64 right there.
3:09>> PAL version. >> Yeah, >> I need this to run at 50 Hz. >> Pokemon Puzzle League PAL version. >> And a yo-yo, >> of course. Why not? >> On sale. Retro games and yo-yos. Perfect. >> Oh, Donkey Konga. That's a fun game. I love that game. >> Wow. All right. What are the prices around here? These I mean these are rated. These are rated. So >> yeah, but maybe like loose. Okay. $19.
3:35>> Oh, this is Mega Man. >> Mega Man 84 loose. >> That artwork looks a little different on that Mega Man. That's pretty >> cool. Some more down here. >> Yep. >> Wow. >> These are actually in pretty good condition too. >> Oh, it just keeps going. Oh my gosh. >> There's more here. >> Really didn't expect that there.
3:51Nintendo double player wireless head-to-head system. >> What in the world is that? I don't think I've ever seen that before. >> This very squat Mario. >> What is this German? Schnopsy dro. What is that? >> Schnopsy Dal. >> Schnopsy. What does that mean? >> I don't know. Someone translate for it. >> This also says Pokemon schnapsy. >> Snaps. Pokemon Snaps.
4:18>> I don't know. >> This is a game. Chinopsy >> 3DS. >> What is this? >> They have more stuff down here, too. >> Where? >> Down here. >> Donkey Kong. Look at that. Donkey Kong Country. What is that? >> Wow. All right. >> So, this this is another >> bundle. Console and game. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow.
4:41>> Wow. >> Yeah. Cool. We're seeing some stuff we have not seen before. >> That's actually pretty neat. It's >> really nicely displayed, too. Oh, the controversial >> European different >> of the wild. We all every region got to choose. >> Yes. They were like, "We have to see Link's face." >> And us in Japan said, "We like Link from the back." But they had to see Link's face.
5:01>> Got to be different. All right. You're circling the store like a hungry animal. >> Hungry shark. >> Let's see what we got. Oh, look at that. That's >> Isn't this cool? >> Oh, look. They're building the the cathedral out of It smells so good. >> Wow. Wow, I wish we had smell vision so you can smell the candy.
5:18>> See what we got. >> Oh, you can get a little Haribo purse charm. >> Yeah, >> that's so cute. Focus on the candy. Okay. Wow. >> Oh, they got a lot here. You might need a >> selection is need a basket. Get you Oh, a branded basket. >> A branded Haribo basket. >> Wow. This just goes and goes and goes.
5:37>> And they have something that we never I I didn't even know they made mint. Did you know that? No. >> Every type of gummy. with a salt bomber. Salt bomber >> and so on. All right. You got the candy. >> The candy has been procured. >> So, what did you get? >> So, I got a whole bunch of different like flavors that I haven't seen before.
5:56>> And I'm always amazed because like you get like so many packs of candy. >> Like I mean I I have at least like 10 packs of candy and there it was like $5. Isn't that crazy? >> So, what is it? >> These two that are very interesting to me. This is the Haribo beach party. >> Okay. I don't know what it entails. It looks like there's like tropical fruit drinks in gummy form and they're shaped like fruit tropical drinks as well, which is cute. And then I also got this one, which I've never seen before. It's the classic like Haribo cola, but I think it's mixed with orange.
6:29>> Oh, it's like fruity. Okay, >> so those are two interesting flavors that I've not seen before. >> We are in our seats now for opening night live. The lighting is insane. >> We're here an hour and a half early. For some reason, they really want you to be here early. And it's almost full. >> So, we're just going to be hanging out here for 90 minutes.
6:51>> What are we going to do? What are you going to do to entertain me? >> I'm going to be twiddling my thumbs. I don't know what you're going to do to entertain yourself, but there is there's a giant Gamescom robot. >> There is a robot >> that's about 9 ft tall. Uh, sounds like Bane. We thought it was the shick robot, but it was a game. It was a a Gamescom branded scare. Jeff loves robots and Jeff loves socks.
7:13>> So, and the Muppets >> and and Miss Piggy. >> When can those three things coales? >> Yeah. You might say his how he feels about Miss Piggy goes beyond love, but that's for another vlog. >> Lust. >> So, well, the clock's ticking. >> Yeah. Let me show you guys what it looks like. >> Look at this. The crowds have gathered.
7:30>> Look at that lighting. 5 4 3 2 1 >> and a welcome to Gamescom. >> Good morning everybody. It is officially day one of Gamescom and we are >> about to go in here >> into the into the giant building. Yes, >> the cold mess. Is that how you say it? I don't know. >> Cold mess. I think so. I think so.
7:59>> Yeah. Um, but yes, we have an exciting couple of days of playing a lot of cool games to this morning. We intentionally left it a little bit less booked with appointments because we want to check out all the different booths and definitely stopped by the Nintendo booth. We've seen some photos of the Square Enix booth which looks really cool. So, I think we're going to try to do a little investigation first. Yeah.
8:25>> Yeah. Something I'm wondering um and we'll be able to find out very quickly is so last night at opening night live one of the things they announced is oh the Witcher 3 is coming that they have this new version on the Switch 2. >> Yeah. >> Might they have that playable in the Nintendo booth? It's coming out next month.
8:40>> We don't know for free. >> That would be that would be cool. You're finally going to play The Witcher 3, right? >> I actually am. I'm actually pretty excited about it cuz this is a game that I've been meaning to get to and it's a great motivation now. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. About to go in.
8:51>> Oo, look at that. >> We're in. >> We have arrived inside. Yes. >> And this is the Nintendo booth. >> Yeah. >> Mario. >> Mario. >> Mario and friends. >> Mario House of Nintendo Switch 2. >> So yeah, this is kind of the area where they do like events and tournament. You're going to tournament. The battle stage.
9:12>> Battle stage. Right. Right. >> And then >> this is the same location as last year. Huh. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> It's very much the same setup where it's first party stuff there and then there are these little bungalows. >> Yep. With the third party things. third party things. >> Big area for Switch Sports. >> Yeah. This was Metroid Prime last year.
9:31This spot. >> Right. Right. Right. Right. >> I like this little beach setup, though. That's kind of cute. >> This is nice. We got a beach chair. >> We got a plant. >> We got some sand. We got to bring in some sand. >> Okay. So, this is >> This is a thing that's unique to this show.
9:45>> We need to get a badge to prove that we are 18 and over because clearly I look like a freshaced teenager. >> You do, >> don't I? Yes. >> Don't you? >> I do. >> Um >> I'm very young. >> I do want to play this. >> I do too. >> And you want to play that?
10:00>> Well, I want you to play that. >> I want to play a lot of this stuff. >> Yeah, we've played Minecraft Dungeons. But yeah, we can definitely Oh, Metaphor refant over there. >> Play Minecraft Dungeons again. >> I know. I don't either cuz we already played that. >> Um but yeah, this is cool. Definitely want to check that. That was where Kirby was last year.
10:14>> All right. I don't see a Witcher here necessarily. >> No Witcher. >> Orbitals. That's about to come out. >> Orbitals. Yep. Um, let's just loop around this way. >> Pretty big orbital sign though. Look at that. >> Yeah, that's a very big >> big big support. >> I mean, this is a exclusive game. >> Yes. >> So, makes sense.
10:32>> Big support. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> and then what do we have? Oh, Splatoon Raiders. Yes. It wouldn't be a Nintendo booth if we didn't have a game that was already out for months that will somehow have a line that just goes and goes and goes. >> Exactly. Exactly. I will say the lines are pretty light right now, but it just opened. So, >> yes, literally just opened and this is the business morning.
10:54>> Yes. Yes. >> So, only strictly business will be conducted. >> Strictly sports business >> and then we're back here. >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, I guess we better go get a wristband to prove age verification. >> We got to age verify. >> All right.
11:34You just finished playing Call of Duty. >> Got some COD going in Germany on the Switch, too. I got a little item. Listen to that. Oh, listen to that. >> Oh. >> Oh, >> couldn't do it. What? >> Oh, what's happening? >> Oh, >> I don't know what it is, but look at that. >> It looks nice carabiner.
11:56>> Just dangle it on yourself.
12:31Okay, we just got done walking around and checking out stuff at the Nintendo booth. I showed a QR code and I got a thing of a thing of a >> bobber little another doohickey. >> But you know it's it's like an hour and a half into Gamescom where we're kind of done at the main Nintendo booth which is Nintendo.
12:47>> Too bad like it is a downgrade from last year totally where they had Metroid Prime. >> They had Kirby Air Riders. >> Kirby Air Riders and Pokemon Legend. >> Legend. >> I didn't even get a legend. >> No. >> Jeez. >> No one yelled at me about Legend. >> No. So it's like they got some third party games that are cool. They got we switch sports resorts which we've already seen.
13:08>> And then we did confirm that what they're showing there was the same thing we saw at ComicCon. So they haven't like updated. >> We don't really need to play that again, >> right? They have a lot of games that are already out like Pakopia. They have Star Fox. >> They have Splatoon Raiders. I mean those games are out so no need to play them here obviously.
13:25>> So I just can't help but feel like and they have their plans but the missed opportunity to have this Zelda remake >> for all these people. I know a lot of people coming through the show kind of leading up to the big holiday. You have a captive audience. Why not take advantage of people who are want to get excited by this big thing at the Nintendo booth and it's like I don't know what the big thing here is.
13:46>> There is no big thing. >> Kind of not. >> It's not that. >> No, probably not. >> So, good good news. There's a lot of other booths that have other Switch games and other games we want to see. So, >> we did see some cool third party Switch two games as well. >> Yeah. >> So, that was fun.
14:02>> Yeah. So, time to time to wander. >> Yeah.
14:40Hey, hey hey.
15:01Heat up
15:10here.
15:42Heat.
15:57Heat.
16:17Heat. Heat. N.
16:41Hey,
16:51hey hey.
17:11So, the floodgates have opened and everyone is here. Now, we're getting closer to the weekend and this is what it's actually like on like the public day. >> Yeah. when we started like they have time for business and people to come through and now it's just open to anybody and it's impossibly crowded and it probably takes about an hour to walk from one end. It's getting very hot in here.
17:35>> The other and this is this is the Nintendo booth we're going through. These >> super long lines to play pretty much >> everything >> anything like even >> even the out games that are already out >> and it's just a slo. So we're glad that we did all of this yesterday. >> I know this is that was what we learned last year to do it all early before this happened cuz it's impossible now.
18:00>> So wish us luck. Gamescom is still happening, but we have returned to the media marked. >> They finally opened. They had like a grand opening, >> which is the electronic store, which is giving me kind of like European Yodabashi camera vibes >> and they have this underground. >> They call this the gaming event space. So, I guess they could do like esports or something.
18:21>> Yeah, I guess so. There's a cool like cafe kind of got a basement thing going on here. Lego Mario Kart. >> Lego Mario Kart. >> Miss that. So, this is still the non >> here. This is very heavy, so please hold this. This is the most confusing uh Switch 2 bundle you'll ever see. Literally taped together.
18:40>> There is Mario Kart >> Mario Kart World. >> And for some reason, >> Luigi's Luigi and the original Switch Switch, >> the original Switch One >> for >> that many. >> That's actually not a bad price. I think that's I don't I'm not doing the math immediately off the top of my head, but I think that's pretty good. Okay, here we go.
19:01>> Got Switch games. >> PlayStation 5 Switch games. >> These are just Switch One games. A lot of them. >> It really is. >> So, like what's a price like? Okay. Metroid Prime 4 switch one. >> $30 >> marked down. >> Switch one though. >> Well, it's not €50 like Moto GP or Brotherhip. >> Mark down. It's cheaper than Brotherhip.
19:23>> It's heavily discounted because nobody bought it. >> That is That is very depressing. >> Can I spell it out for you anymore? >> Oh, here we have more of the Wow. >> They just We found the bundle the motherload of Switch, too. So, >> the bundle is really is really bundling. You You said this is a doorbuster.
19:41>> This is a great price >> cuz you are Yeah, >> I mean it's a strange It's a strange combination, but it's a great price, >> but you are getting a a very good deal. >> Wow, look at all these games. It's a lot of games. So, what's a get price? >> 6070. >> Yeah. 69799 69. Okay. So, these are all like weirdly different prices.
20:00>> Are you here? I'm going to do this some quick math on how much €7 is. $70 is $81. So, I'm paying they got $80 games in Europe. >> No wonder mad. >> And it's a game key card. >> I'm about to flip my lid. You get a cheap version of Splatoon or Splatoon's already cheap anyway. >> This one's also not $80.
20:24>> Anything else >> of Nokia? >> Mario Kart $80. >> Oh, that's interesting. It's the same >> as Picopia. >> Huh. >> See, >> this pricing is very curious. Gosh, this this rating thing is so big. >> So ugly and huge. >> Really big. >> What is What is USK zero? That means like zero years old >> for for infants.
20:49>> Even a baby, even a a It's E for everybody >> or you're like a baby, you can play this. Great. >> Yeah, that's what it is. Okay.
21:34Well, we made it to the end of Gamescom. We're very tired. >> It's a long couple days. It's a long couple days, but it was a fun couple of days. We wanted to tell you guys kind of like what we saw and our favorite things and biggest surprises. And then we also have just like a pile of stuff that people gave us that is just so cool that we have to show you guys.
21:57>> Yeah, we saw a we saw a lot, but there were some things where we got appointments we got to see in greater detail and actually like play or watch demoed for us. I'm just going to rattle off the list. Okay. >> 007 First Light on the Switch 2. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 on the Switch 2.
22:12Metaphor Refontazio on the Switch 2. Gears of War Eday not on a Switch 2. >> Exclusive Xbox. >> The Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Mayhem DLC. >> Castlevania Belmont's Curse. Valheim Crazy Taxi World Tour. Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen, Mega Man Dual Override, Witcher 3 Songs of the Past, and the Genky Manta Controller. Oh, you reading off the list. It's a lot of stuff.
22:39>> It's making me tired because that means we really >> I'm re livingiving all of those moments. >> I'm reliving trudging through the coms. Um, but yes, we did see a lot of stuff and it was cool to see some of these games with like longer demos like we said and we do have some videos up for some of the individual games.
22:59>> Eventually, we'll have a lot more. We're working on >> eventually we'll have a lot more. But yeah, already live on the channel is 007 and Call of Duty. Yeah. >> So, more to come going deeper on these games. >> But what did you what's what what's stood out to you as a surprise or just a really good game?
23:16>> So, I guess the the biggest surprise for me is actually Lego Batman. >> Oh, >> that was one where I was like kind of interested last year and then like the Switch 2 version didn't come for a while. So, I was like, I'll just wait cuz it's not like an immediate thing. But, we finally got a chance to play it.
23:34And it's actually so good. Like that mode that you're doing. I know that's different than the base game, but yeah, there there's some like cool mechanics in there. There was like a grappling thing that you were doing. And I don't know, the look of the game is just really cool. >> Yeah, it's a good step up. >> And I I was for Lego games.
23:53>> Yeah, really good step up for Lego games. And I I've heard really good things about the base game already and it's just very funny and >> like kind of like lighthearted. So I was I went in not >> really putting that on my radar at all, but came away with that whole experience being like, "Wow, that's actually that's actually pretty like solid game." >> So that's probably my biggest surprise.
24:14And my favorite game that I played >> of the show probably a tie between well maybe a little bit more. Uh Castlevania is my favorite one and I really liked um uh Gears of War Eating as well. Both of those like kind of I'm I'm like mentally, you know, even after playing all these games, I'm like those are memorable for me. So those are my two.
24:37What about you? >> Okay. Okay. Um I definitely want to shout out Mega Man, which we saw today, which uh I unfortunately saw you struggling with. Oh, I can't play that game. >> But >> but it was it looked cool >> for an old school fan like me. Yeah, >> it's just something that's hardwired into my brain where I can just play these games.
24:58>> Um, and I just kind of fell right back into the old routine of playing and a lot of that stuff still applied, but they still added some stuff to make it feel pretty fresh uh and new. like it's not the most like flashy game visually, but it's just for an old head like me, very fun to play.
25:18>> Um, >> you can tell the people that >> played this game before and the people who did like the row of people that I was with, we were all dying at that same place and then later on we were talking to some people and somebody else said to us like, "I could not beat that second boss." I was like, "Me neither." >> But you beat the demo twice. played it twice >> cuz you were so good at like just muscle memory must be >> Yeah.
25:42>> Yeah. So, I wasn't sure what what you know, this could be good, this could be terrible. Um, I ended up really liking it. I also really enjoyed Gears Eday. It's been a long time since I've played that series, but when I when I used to play it, I really liked it a lot. >> And then and then they just kind of did too many of those and I was like, I need I need a break.
25:59>> Kind of like Assassin's Creed where it's like you need to just take a breather from it. >> So, I'll be excited to come back to that. The game looks really good and it was really like I don't know there's something like very visceral about the controls or like you know that you can obviously shoot people but there's also that close-up melee kind of combat. It's just it feels really good. Yeah.
26:17>> You had an embarrassing moment in our last appointment with CD Project Red where before that we had we had a theater presentation and they said raise your hand if if you've not ever played The Witcher 3. >> Nobody raised >> and I looked over to you >> because you have not. >> I was like this. You were you were a frightened >> I was I was a fraud. Um it was a fake gamer girl.
26:37>> But so like we got a lot of news. We got uh this remastered version of Witcher 3 is coming to Switch 2. We didn't get to see that. I know they had that on their stream. It sounds like it's great. >> Um this expansion which is coming later u was looking very impressive. And you know they just they just have a special way of keeping these older games relevant.
26:57>> Yeah. >> Um and updated and fresh. So, I don't I don't need to play The Witcher 3 again. That's a very big experience. I hope you will >> I will >> at some point, you know, find the time to play it because it is really good and I and I do want to play that expansion >> now that when it comes out.
27:13>> The whole collection is coming to Switch 2 pretty soon. I think I'm going to this is my chance to jump into it. I'm really excited because yeah, like on paper, this is a game that I would love. I've also watched like the TV show and I I really liked like I really like that world and the story and so some of the stuff was pretty familiar to me.
27:32>> Um >> but I yeah I was really impressed with what they showed us. It the game is just so beautiful. like it's they I was saying that they picked a really good area to show us cuz it's like bright and colorful and it's an older game, but they did a really good job updating everything and everything just looks like >> super nice and yeah, I agree. Like there's something about them and we played Cyberpunk >> for like the second time um earlier last year. There's something like a bit timeless about their games um that's very impressive. So yes, it was it was really fun.
28:02>> Yeah. Yeah. Um we got so much stuff. >> We did along the way. Oh my goodness. uh that we want to share with you, show you. Where should we begin? >> Well, since we're just talking about the Witcher, should we show the Witcher stuff that we got? >> Our hot pickup here. >> Witcher merch. >> So, we got this on the way out of this theater.
28:20>> Yeah. So, this >> and this I wasn't sure what this was, so I would like to open this up. >> Yeah, let's open it up. So, they gave us these like really cool tickets to trade in. >> It looked like a movie ticket. >> It did. It was very like fancy. And then we traded it in for two items. One like a bag. Shoulder bag. This is actually really nice, though.
28:40>> Oh, I didn't Oh, this is like velvety. I'm not >> Oh, wow. That's really That actually is nice. >> Yeah, it's like big enough to fit kind of a lot of stuff. >> Very high quality. >> And then there's something on the other side, I think. >> Yeah, there's the logo on the other side. >> Wow.
28:55>> And yeah, it's super super high quality. Really nice. Okay, that's that's a cool gift. And then they gave us shirts. I appreciated that they were like, "What's your size?" >> Yeah. And they like gave you one that's, you know, hopefully that fits you. >> This looks cool, too. >> Sometimes, you know, you get stuff that's like too big. Oh, this is very cool. It's a really nice material, too.
29:16>> Oh, it is. It's got this tag with the CD Project logo >> and then like on the back >> the game on the back. Nice. >> Yeah. I like I like the front, though. >> Speaking of shirts, the the at the Konami booth, they were wearing these great shirts that had the box art for Castlevania. >> I was I was hoping they would hand those out, but no. No luck. No luck on that.
29:35>> Those shirts look really nice. >> Those shirts really did look nice. I was like holding out hope like maybe they'll make a set of tarot cards. >> Yeah, that makes >> I would like to have those. That's really cool. >> All right, >> we did get a tarot card though. Where is that? >> We did. I think it's in here somewhere.
29:48>> So, we got this big bag uh at LEGO. But before we get to that Oh, here it is. >> The from from Konami. We got this other like tote bag for Castlevania. And then there's one tarot card in here. Like I kind of need the whole set though. You know what I mean? Like that would be >> But it is like it's well made. Like >> super nice.
