Perfect For

Questions

Does this work with any YouTube video?

It works with any video that has captions. Most YouTube videos have auto-generated captions enabled by default. If a video has no captions at all, we can't extract a transcript—but that's rare.

Is it really free?

Yes, completely free. No account required, no limits on how many videos you can view, no watermarks on the transcript. Just use it.

What about age-restricted or private videos?

Most age-restricted videos work fine. Private videos require you to have access to them (be logged into an account with permission). Unlisted videos work if you have the URL.

Can I copy the transcript?

Yes. Press C to open the copy menu. You can copy as plain text, with timestamps, or download as a .txt file. Select specific sections by highlighting them first.

Why is it called 2outube?

It's 'YouTube' with the 'Y' replaced by '2'. That's the whole trick—just change one letter in any YouTube URL to get the transcript. Easy to remember, easy to use.
